Richard Green of Ropsley Farms in Lincolnshire talks about how the MicroSOS personal safety alarm gives him peace of mind over his employees. Workers simply clip the tiny USB-sized device onto their belt for 24 hour protection. MicroSOS makes use of GPRS tracking and fall detection technology enabling them to get assistance quickly if something goes wrong.
Agriculture is one of the UK’s most dangerous industries with a reported 33 employees killed in 2017-18. As the Health and Safety Executive calls for ‘new attitudes’ on reducing on-farm injuries and fatalities, looking to innovative new technology like this may just be the answer.
